    Introduction Stok Kangri was my first high altitude trek. I had no real experience going past 4,000m, the highest being Kinabalu (4095m) and the longest time I have stayed outdoors in the mountains was during Rinjani for 3 days and 2 nights.     Introduction Stok Kangri (6153m) is a trekking summit in India and more importantly, also known as the “easiest 6,000m peak”, serving as the gateway into experiencing high altitude mountains. Situated in Hemis National Park, it is the highest mountain in the Stok Range of the Indian Himalayas in the Ladakh region of India. Despite having such a high altitude, climbing Stok Kangri does not require any technical skills or advanced mountaineering knowledge.
