All You Need To Know About Kilimanjaro (5,895m) On A Budget

Kilimanjaro(5,895m) is a dormant volcano located in the heart of Tanzania that can boost two mighty titles, the highest mountain in Africa as well as the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Everest might be the ‘holy grail’ of all mountains, but Kilimanjaro is the ‘holy grail’ of trekking mountains. Here is a post on all the details you need to know on Kilimanjaro as well as the factors and decisions you need to make for a trip to Kilimanjaro. If you wish to know more in detail about what the trek is like, check out my Lemosho 7 day trek! If you are looking for someone to arrange your Kilimanjaro…

Kilimanjaro (5,895m): Lemosho 7 Days Route

Kilimanjaro(5,895m) is the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free-standing mountain in the world. Additionally, it is a dormant volcano and located in the heart of Tanzania. Everest might be the ‘holy grail’ of all mountains, but Kilimanjaro is the ‘holy grail’ of trekking mountains. Firstly, its location is in a continent known to as the cradle of mankind due to being near (relatively) South African and Ethiopia. Africa is a pretty mythical region due to the lack of knowledge and information for most tourists. I know I am stretching it, but Holy Grail, Africa, Cradle of Mankind, Kilimanjaro, all these do add up to sound like some ignorant…

Manaslu Circuit Trek : Detailed Itinerary

Detailed Route I will try to detail the whole route through and mention the notable points and information. There are many small villages that one would pass through and could stop at, but I would only highlight the more prominent ones. I did my trip in September-October 2017, which is during the peak season in Nepal but just slightly before the real crowds. Before reading this, please first read my post on the guide to Manaslu Circuit Trek. It is important to first understand the regulations and requirements for the Manaslu Region. There is also more information on the side-treks you can do. My Proposed Itinerary For me, I have…

The Complete(Almost) Guide To Manaslu Circuit Trek

Introduction Honestly, nobody really needs an introduction to Nepal. Nepal is famous for, well the highest mountain in the world obviously, Mount Everest, also known as Sagarmāthā in Nepali or Chomolungma in Tibetan. However, that is not the main reason why many backpackers and hikers are drawn to Nepal. It is host to the Himalayan range of mountains which contains 8 of the world’s 10 highest peaks. This leads to endless beautiful circuit treks with jaw-dropping scenery and 8000m+ snow mountains every step of the way. Supposedly, one such circuit is the Manaslu Circuit Trek. There are many treks in Nepal with various difficulties. The most famous and accessible ones are…

A day in Ella : Ella’s Rock and Little Adam’s Peak

Ella is famous for 3 main sites. Ella’s Rock, Little Adam’s Peak and the Demodara Nine Arches Bridge. Although we did not visit the Nine Arches Bridge, I think it is possible and ideal to do all 3 within a day. https://goo.gl/maps/FdA1LCLgWcM2 If I were to redo my trip, I would do all 3 sights by my own 2 feet and it would be a full walking day for me in Ella. It is possible to get around by tuk-tuk and much faster, but why waste money and the chance the burn some calories? ELLA ROCK I did not sleep a wink on my overnight train from Colombo to Ella.…

SRI LANKA : HOW TO TRAVEL SRI LANKA ON A BUDGET

Why Sri Lanka? Sri Lanka isn’t as massive as its gigantic neighbour India, but it makes for an inexpensive 1-2 week trip in Asia. I spent only 500 SGD in total for my 1 week trip in Sri Lanka. This is inclusive of my flights which is 300 SGD. Sri Lanka is a country of many diverse sights. She is rich in historical and religious sites, has idyllic beaches to relax in and scenic hill country to explore, as well as some of the best national parks in the region for leopards and elephants. We hiked to the summit of Adam’s Peak, explored the scenic hill country using its scenic…

IRAN : THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO PLANNING YOUR TRIP (ALMOST)

THE LAND OF BEAUTY, HOSPITALITY AND MISCONCEPTIONS Going to Iran had always been a dream of mine. It was planted in my head to go there as the haven for hospitality. Throughout my travels especially in Eastern Europe, I met many couchsurfers and hitch-hikers and all of them have only good things to say about Iran. There is a certain allure to going to Iran. Known as “Persia”, it is a name steeped in history and fantasy, lending an air of mystique. It reminds me of the Arabian nights. The stories and connotations associated with Iran gives a mysterious charm to its forgotten lands. It is also the one place…
